After seeing that people are already “liking” us so quick on Facebook and leaving us comments I thought it would be prudent to give a quick backdrop to the domain name evangelos.in. Yes we know that “*.in is the Internet country code top-level domain for India.” Yes we are aware that neither Miwaza nor I live in India. Well here is the abridged version of the story.
It all started with www.miwaza.com/evangelos. The name Evangelos was great but we needed a domain name that was more official. So we thought let’s do evangelos.com? Well that’s taken…so we tossed around the idea of evangelosproductions.com but agreed it was too long. We continued to discuss the different possibilities, even .net and .org. Nothing seemed to be working.
Then one day Miwaza sent me an idea, somewhat half joking, of evangelos.jp (internet country code for Japan). But then all joking aside she said “What about evangelos.in? Like www.evangelos.in Poland? We can substitute any place at the end of wherever we are going.” So it would be like evangelos.in/insert_countries_name. I thought it was perfect.
That’s the basic story, and somewhat of the back drop of why we picked “.in”. Nothing too extravagant, just our humble name. Keep taking pictures and keep an eye out for when the Evangelos are in Poland
