- Summary of Jonah -
God told Jonah the son of Amittai to go to Nineveh and tell the people the God Words. But Jonah ran away from God and he hopped on the ship to Tarshish. On the way to Tarshish there was a terrible storm on the sea, but Jonah was sleeping at the lowest parts of the ship. So the mariner told Jonah to pray to Jonah's God for the forgiveness.
The Captain of the ship decided to cast lots and know who's the cause this trouble has come upon them. And the lot fell to Jonah. So Jonah told the mariners that he is escaping from God. The mariners asked what they should do to calm down this storm. So Jonah told them to throw him into the sea.
When the mariners threw Jonah into the sea, the storm stopped. So the mariners feared the Lord and offered a sacrifice to the Lord. God let the enormous fish to swallow Jonah. So the fish swallowed Jonah and Jonah stayed in it's stomach for three days and three nights. In the fish's stomach Jonah prayed to God, so God spoke to the fish to vomit Jonah.
God told Jonah to go to Nineveh so he went to Nineveh. And Jonah walked around the town to tell the people about God's judge unto Nineveh. When The people heard about it, they believed in God and prayed to Him for the forgiveness.
When God saw the Nineveh people turned from the evil way, He forgave them and didn't overthrown the town. So Jonah got angry about it.
